Martinez – A classic cocktail served in new ways

This blog post contains advertisement

Martinez – a true classic that’s listed under the IBA official cocktail under “the unforgettables”.

A cocktail widely known to be the precursor to the Martini, and it appears that the recipe came off a riff on the whiskey based Manhattan cocktail. The Martinez cocktail was originally made with genever / jenever or old tom gin, but most of todays modern serves are made with london dry gin.

Martinez is a cocktail template I enjoy alot to use, the combination of gin and vermouth is such wonderful combo. The modifyer in form of a sweetener and the choice of bitters, to match the gin and vermouth, is where I often make changes when I stir up a tasty Martinez cocktail to match my desired preferences.

Below I have provided three Martinez styled cocktails, that I wish that you’ll give a try. I really enjoyed these three serves and I wish that you’ll spoil yourself too, by stirring up these amazing cocktails too.

Cheers & enjoy!

Coffee cocktails – drinks for coffee lovers

This blog post contains advertisement

Need to kick things up a little ? I’m sure these coffee cocktails will do the trick.

Coffee cocktails is much more than the classic Irish coffee or espresso martini, which I think must be the most well known coffee cocktails, but they also are for a reason, its really deilicious cocktails.

I want to show that there is much more to sipping coffee in drinks than making the classics, and therefore I have made four drinks with coffee which shows you can go in many different directions using coffee to kick up your sips with a little caffeine.

If you like me, love a good coffee and also cocktails. Then I’m sure you’ll love these cocktails with the use of coffee.

Cheers & enjoy!

Drinks on fire – flaming cocktails that will light you up

This blog post contains advertisement

Drinks on fire – yes these flaming cocktails will light you up.

There is something intriguing about fire, wether its a campfire or in a chimney. Fire can wake a feeling in all of us. But today I want to talk about drinks on fire or cocktails where you get to play a little with fire.

Lighting a match and expressing citrus oils through the fire over your cocktails or torching fruits, herbs or ganishes will instantly wake your senses, and give a new aspect to your sipping experience. The smell or taste will give a new dimension to your drink that you would have been left without, and I’m sure you will have the attention of the people around you, when you serve these drinks.

Below you’ll find five cocktails I’ve made using fire, and I hope that these will inspire you to make your own “drinks on fire”.

Have you tried to make a drink using fire ? I would love to hear about it in the comments below.

Be careful when you use fire in the making of cocktails. Be in control of what is happening, be aware, take care and remember safety first.

Cheers & enjoy !

Negroni

This blog post contains advertisement

The Negroni template is a template I really like and enjoy to experiment with in all kinds of combinations.
In this post I have picked three negroni cocktails with different expressions and visual appearances, of this well known classic cocktail. I have served all three negronis in my squared glass.

I love to serve Negroni in my square glass. I get a lot of questions about this particular square glass, I bought in a second-hand store close to where I live. I often visit second-hand stores to find new glassware and bar gear. Second-hand is good for the global environment and they often supports a good cause.

My local second-hand store fight against poverty and support the vulnerable people in Asia, Africa, Middle East & Denmark. By shopping locally, I found the most popular and liked glass in my collection, and supported a good cause – What’s not to like?
